Extra special prayers for all of our little ones (especially Lincoln) , YA friends with extra needs and those with special requests (Doris). For those who may not have seen my post yesterday here is the update on Lincoln. I didn't post till late yesterday."We have had another week full of struggle. Last Wednesday, Lincoln came down with several infections. He has pneumonia, an intestinal infection and a blood infection. On Wednesday night he was moved back into the PICU because he was having difficulty breathing. He was put on a ventilator later that night. Since then Lincoln has been kept on sedatives and a bunch of other meds for the infections. Today they are decreasing the sedatives, and are planning on taking him off of the ventilator tomorrow. Lincoln is having some problems with his digestion, please keep this in your prayers! . For those of you who haven't heard... On Thursday afternoon we were told that Lincolns breast bone did not heal correctly. Meaning surgery was scheduled for 7am on Friday morning to open him back up and re-set the bone. Immediately prayers went up and emails for prayers went out. 6:45am Friday morning my phone rings and it is the surgeon. He says that he came up to check him out before surgery and to his shock, Lincolns breastbone is perfectly fine! No surgery needed! Do you think banana flavored coffee brewing should be taught in home-economics?
Norris Rosener: no, it is much too controversial.....but vanilla hazelnut would be ok!
Asa Soho: No. Leave that for the parents to teach. Once you let bananas into the classroom, where will it stop?
Clinton Quant: I love banana flavored coffee! Probably my very favorite... where do you get yours?
Jonathan Schlussel: I feel it sohould be required to graduate high school.
Dalia Causby: Ew, that sounds icky just thinking about it.
Mario Stricklan: I thought they no longer called it home economics? No one should sit through that class! What about the basics? How to read, write and do math?
Myriam Hetjonk: Of course, and not only that, it should be made mandatory throughout all universities of the world,in factories and offices,in all places where people like to gather, and even in banana republics.
Sheree Hipwell: no my husband wouldnt drink it
Enriqueta Steffen: I love coffee. I love bananas. Putting them together doesn! 't sound like a tasty combo to me. I don't think it should be taught.
David Boehler: Banana flavored koffee is just grosse!! I like CHOCLATE MACADAMIA NUT flavor koffee!!!
Ronny Nowzari: I don't know, my daughter took a class in high school called "cooking". They taught her to make grilled cheese, tomato soup from a can and hot chocolate from a package. If that is their idea of cooking, they need to reread their dictionary! Teaching them how to make coffee of any flavor would be great! My husband works with 2 other men, the rest are women. No one knows how to make coffee but him. I have never tried banana flavored coffee. My hubby loves bananas, do you think he would like it? Do you have a recipe for it? Teaching Programs In Chicago?
David Kuper: I did Teach for America and taught in a very challenged (ie -- dangerous, underfunded, poorly-managed) school in New York City. It was incredibly difficult and I ended up leaving earlier than I had expected because I was having health problems as a result of the stress. I grew up in Chicago, but I didn't go to one of the really bad schools, so I'm not sure what you would expect from there. But I hear that it is as bad as the schools in New York. There are several programs that allow you to teach in Chicago -- Teach for America (I had a bad experience with them, so I wouldn't recommend it, but here's their website: www.teachforamerica.org), Chicago Teaching Fellows (www.chicagoteachingfellows.org) and one or two more that are sponsored by local colleges in Chicago, I think. I would recommend that you try to shadow a teacher or two who are in one of these programs. I wish I had been able to do this and see what "a day in the life" was really like. I felt totall! y unprepared for what awaited me when I began teaching....Show more

SPECIAL EDUCATION/REGULAR EDUCATION TEACHERS?
Darrin Hixenbaugh: You;ve got lots of questions running in your head but thats good. In my school district in Texas, special ed. teachers receive about $1500 - 3000 more than reg. ed teachers. Your school district may not. However, these teachers are LIFESKILLS teachers, which means they have kids who are very low academically , multiple disabilites, non verbal with MR , wheelchair bound, etc. They are with those children for the entire day....even lunch . All subjects are taught by them, in that 1 classroom, no moving around. While reg, ed teachers drop off their class for music, PE or lunch, not lifeskill teachers. They dont break from their kids. Have you ever changed a diaper of an 8 or 9 year old? Worked with a autistic, nonverbal 4th grader AND a 1st grader with severe MR and ADHD? How about a child who bites, kicks and bangs his head on the wall when over stimulated? The LS teachers dont have only 2nd graders or kinders. The class consists of the entire grade! s of the elem. school ( 1st - 4th) perhaps. It takes a very, VERY SPECIAL teacher to work and love working with SPECIAL children.Good Luck!...Show more

For english grammar gurus: do quotation marks generally go outside or inside question marks/comma?
Charlotte Bryar: They go on the outside.
Clementina Collelo: Generally all quotation marks go inside the punctuation marks. If you have a quotation that you're using as a part of your own question, however, you should quote the quotation and then add the question mark.
Lashawnda Anteby: Where the comma or question mark is part of the quote - inside the quotation marks.Where they are not part of the quote - outside
Sheree Hipwell: Quotation marks go on the outside of commas and question marks - never inside.
Amina Motzer: relies upon. classes continuously bypass interior. comparable with commas. Colons and semi-colons continuously bypass exterior. this is by way of fact a colon or semi-colon on the top of a citation is in no way a needed area of the unique citation. question marks and exclamation factors bypass interior if and provided that they are area of the citation. in case you're quoting somebody asking a question, the question mark is going ! interior. in case you're asking a question a pair of fact somebody made, the question mark is going exterior. Justin Casten: 1. Strongly disagree. 2. Strongly disagree. 3. Question is confusing..."children should be made to revise?" Not sure4. Agree.5. Disagree. Activities and learning can be done cooperatively.6. Disagree. Education and many school systems are currently undergoing major transitions and growth because schools are not preparing children for the real work of work. 7.Agree8. Disagree. I started school formerly at 5. (1956-57). I knew and could spell and write my name, names of my parents, address, phone number, wa! s tested and read on a 3rd grade level! When parents work with their children and prepare them for a formal school environment, the children are hungry for learning. I learned to write cursively at 6 and was told "not to" by teachers because I was "moving faster than they wanted me to go". 9. Strongly disagree. Children don't know 'formality'. That's an adult word. All you have to do is present the opportunity to children to learn - what do they know of 'formality. In my school we have to have our standards posted on the board along with our objectives. I introduced these to my students and told them why we were doing this and they were excited about it. Their parents were excited, because now they knew what the state of TN required and they knew from their children's notebooks, that they were writing down each week what our objectives and goals were and then if we accomplished them or not. 10. Agree. However, depending upon your school, the educational experience of ! the parents, some might not be able to be 'taught' how to help. Ex. Wh! en my daughter was in school, I was not able to help her in Algebra. She knew more about it than I did - however, we had Homework Hotline, Tutors, etc. that were available to assist students. Parents should be able to participate when they can - but schools should provide as much outside assistance to ensure the students get the help they need. 11. Strongly disagree. No school day can be structured around play - not and be able to compete with other schools of the world. We need play - but we need active, engaged learning.12. Disagree. Adults should provide a variety of sources for children to enjoy within a setting and yes, they should 'go for it' however, adults need to supervise 'how to' and initiate cooperative play13.Agree. Formal education is necessary for more than just preparing students for adulthood. It is the sturcture by which we matriculate from school to school, degree to degree. The older we get , the more educational needs are met for the working stu! dent and it becomes non-traditional (students obtaining degrees online).14. Agree. A child does not know and is unable to determine what he needs to know in the world, or how to compete. It is about how the child will learn and be prepared to compete in the world. How the child will obtain a way of life, earn a living, participate in the economical structure of the place in which he lives, and be a willing consumer and all around good citizen....Show more

Primary Education???
Lashawnda Anteby: There are definite clarifications necessary here to make this a quantifiable question. This sounds like a British education system, but I cannot be for sure. I am more accustomed to one primary education, not two, unless you count public versus private as two. Age group is pretty standard in most states, with some variation. Washington requires K students to start at 6 years, where most others require K students to start at 5 years. Having said that, the breakdown is fairly simple:K - 51st - 62nd - 73rd - 84th - 95th - 106th - 11Here is a break from Elementary to Middle School. Again, some school districts may include the 6th grade, but not all.7 - 128 - 13Another break into high school with ages ranging from 14 - 18, most students graduating high school after their 18th birthday....Show more

What are three main causes of the increase in the cost of a post secondary education?
Rayford Latz: .
Josefine Weekey: so far i have 2 points in my 3 point essay, please keep it coming
Alexander Villas: In the USA the latest study has shown the rising costs are due to increase in Administration. There are more then 5 times the administrators now then 20 yrs ago. Add that to the fact that most classes are taught by a TA.
Bianca Lannier: The primary cause for an increase in the cost of post secondary education is the abundance of student loans and government funding. With all that excess capital pumped into the market, the price can only keep going up and up.

preschool cause kids to be good?
Cecil Derenzi: Thats a load of crap. Many preschoolers can grow up to be bad or good. And i remember in preschool all I did was paint and play or nap.
Lorine Helwick: That artical was a peice of crap. It's now known that preeschool does no help to kids. All it does is add 2-4yrs of schoolling on to them. It's no wonder that preschool kids usualy dropp out in 10th grade.
Ariel Arons: All preschool really does is instill some discipline in a child before they start real school. Like you I think the parallel between good behavior in later life and pre-school is inconclusive. Truly a more important factor for determining good behavior during the teen years is parenting. People can blame bad behavior on anything they'd like but it usually boils down to how your parents raised you. In my opinion, most parents today are incredibley incompetent hence why many kids now have all kinds of issues ranging from poor eating habits, ADHD, and yes even problems with drugs and a! lcohol at an early age. I'm sure you can contribute reasons for your sobriety to how your parents raised you, I know I can....Show more

Need some general homework help, no specific subject.?
Bryant Chaudhry: Go into a room with no computer or tv. Probably the dining room or kitchen in most houses.Just start to study and do your work, but take small breaks when you feel your concentration slip or when you can't get anything done anymore then go back to it after the break is over.
Ervin Overbee: Go into a quite, calm room with no computer. If there is a computer unplug it so you won't have the urge to just click on the internet and go to Y!A. Take a deep breath and get to work.Just focus on your work. Take a few breaks here and there so you won't feel to stressed. Also start your homework early so you can get it out of the way and have more time to go on Y!A and other stuff. You also won't have to worry about doing it later.Hope I helped :]...Show more

Will I be good enough for home schooling?
Demetrius Coaster: There are also schools that will provide books, computers, and a certified teacher so if you do get stuck you will have some kind of help. The state pays for this because they consider it a public school just at home.We love it
Janita Tetlow: Homework is what the kids didn't do in the classroom. They know it. It's just more of the same endless workbook pages. Frustrate anybody. Homeschooling isn't like that. I think you need to learn more about homeschooling first, then you won't feel so unsure. good places to start:http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.comhomeedmag.comYou will not have to stand over him with a whip and a chair. Once the kids get the concept, they are happy to learn. Before he went to school, he loved to learn, right? Just learned. He learned to dress himself, eat, play, walk and talk all without compulsory education. School takes that desire for natural learning away from a child. Can you imagine a classroom of 25 kids all lear! ning whatever they please? Of course not, they have to take that away and replace it with groupthink. You have to power to give him back his love of learning. Learning can happen anywhere the child is comfortable. And with mom and dad sounds pretty comfortable to me....Show more
Karl Jantzen: Yes, you can make it work. But let me tell you what not to do, you have to do the homework and find out what I mean. Do not do school at home. Let the world be your classroom, field trips, forests, parks, museums, documentaries, the library, cooking, painting, art, lessons, sports, 4H, Scouts, I mean there is a world out there that has nothing to do with textbooks. This will be muchWe do very little seat work here Math is the main thing I insist on, but some do more of a practical math approach that is life experience based. This approach will be much better for an ADD type child. My last words of advice are shut off the TV except for documentaries, history channel and ! the like and limit computer time severely, I see home schooled! kids wasting time by the gallons where they could be reading deeply.Last but not least, wear out your library card....Show more
Vita Moodie: Yes I do, and if/while I have youngsters I desire to house tuition them a minimum of till secondary tuition degree. I am a professional main instructor, presently doing provide educating, and I were to too many faculties wherein the behaviour of the minority wrecks the schooling of the bulk. I do not desire my youngsters to need to waste elements of the tuition day ready patiently at the carpet at the same time the trainer attempts to get the naughty little one to act and concentrate - that is the truth of what occurs in plenty of school rooms nowadays. Also, whilst you coach 30 youngsters, the entire magnificence hobbies can under no circumstances be pitched on the degree that all the kids are operating at. Some kids will uncover the teachings too effortless, and a few will uncover them too rough. When you're most effective edu! cating your possess little one, or at so much a handful of youngsters, you're going to realize precisely what degree they're operating at, they usually may not waste any time having to hear matters which might be too rough for them to comprehend, or that they've already mastered. Plus, I simply consider that I would make 'tuition' plenty extra fulfilling and invaluable for my kids than an genuine tuition would. We are living proper by way of a seashore and a park, so would do all forms of paintings, observations, and so on, there, plus in my the city there are countless different parks brief bus rides away, as good as two museums within the the city centre, and plenty of extra museums just a instruct experience away. We have a library 10 mins stroll away, and I realize plenty of golf equipment function in my subject for youngsters, comparable to Cubs, Brownies, Sunday School, dance categories, physical activities golf equipment, and so on, so they would not need to fail to ! see touch with different kids. I consider at secondary degree I could n! eed to learn up on distinctive matters, however I consider I could be competent to, but when my little one desired to wait a secondary tuition then I could take delivery of their resolution....Show more
Idell Syed: From one impatient mom to another, you absolutely can homeschool your son. Just reading what you've written about your concerns for you son and yourself, shows that you can. You and your husband know him better than anyone. How is a teacher who has him for 5 hours a week (since they have different teachers for each subject), who has 15 - 25 other students to work with, going to be able to grab your child like you and your husband can. You are the most qualified to teach your child. The great thing is...any specific subject that you don't feel you can teach, you can learn! You can learn it and teach it to your child. As long as you stay a day or two ahead, you'll do great. Plus, if your son asks a question that you don't know the answer to, then you ! have a wonderful opportunity to model the research and learning for him. What a wonderful gift to teach him HOW to learn, not just that he can come to you for all of the answers. As far as the office environment, that's great. Not only will he be around you and your husband, but he'll be able to see what it means to "work in the real world". You will be modeling adult life for your son. You're raising him to be a man, not a high school kid, anyway.Anyway, I started homeschooling with a very timid heart and now, I know I will not do anything else. It's been more than 5 years and I'm still not perfect, but I also haven't ruined my kids, either. lol...Show more
Shaun Rapkowicz: I have little more to contribute to the comments already here, since I am merely a 14-year-old who's been homeschooled all her life. However, I will say this: DO NOT revoke TV. If you're going to homeschool your child, it's extremely important that he have some connection to the outside worl! d, lest he turn into an introverted hermit with no social skills. I do ! agree, though, that books are 1,000 times more important. But my mom has homeschooled all four of her kids, and she's never done anything about limiting our screen time. And you know what? We all prefer reading anyway. And, as a side note, letting him learn the things he's interested in learning will help with his restlessness. He's interested in mythology? Use that as the core for history and english. Cooking? Turn it into a science lesson. The less you use textbooks, the more enjoyable and memorable the lesson will be for both of you....Show more

Is there a way to get a dental procedure covered by medical insurance rather than dental? Â
answers 0:I have alot of dental problems, i need 15 crowns on the top alone just basic bad tooth enamel. Its not from brushing or flossing since i do that daily. I have dental insurance but not as good as my medical. So is there a way to get it submitted through medical.answers 1:That is horrible that your dentist expects you to pay at time of service. I am suggesting you talk to another dentist, call around and see who might be willing to set up a payment plan. There is no way you can afford to do all that, and as far as I know, regular insurance will not cover dental work.Have you tried to apply for carecredit...Go to carecredit.com and check that out. BesT WisheS to you!I know it can be frustrating to need all this dental work, and feel li! ke there is just NO WAY to get it done. I hope you are able to work it out. Another suggestion that just came to mind, and not one I am comfortable with, but many people are is to find a dental teaching school. They offer discounted dental work, because supervised students work on you. You do have to pay up front there though, you cannot work out payment plans.BesT WisheS!...answers 2:Unless they are working on your jaw or sinus cavities and such, then medical insurance does cover that...as for your teeth, you need to get dental like Delta Dental to cover all those crowns. Even then, they may not cover that many. You basically need your teeth capped and sometimes thats considered a cosmetic process. See if your dentist will work with you to get this covered.answers 3:"my husbands plan calls for $1000 deduct. to be on dental." That statement doesn't make sense, so that leads me to believe that you don't understand how his plan works. Generally dental doesn't have tha! t kind of deductible. It's usually $0-$100 at most, BUT it may! only PAY up to $1,000 per year. Regardless, there's nothing you could likely do at this point other than go with what you have at his work or through your health insurance. In some cases, wisdom teeth can be covered under health insurance depending on the procedure that needs to be done....answers 4:Usually having an on call dentist at your local hospital do it at the hospital gives you some wiggle-room when it comes to your insurance, becuase the treatment may be viewed as a medical precedure, if done at a hospital.answers 5:I don't have delta dental in my state though. And the dentist i go to requires it paid at the time of service.

Question about home schooling?
Kiersten Clayburn: really depends on the district and your state laws. if you fail a class you can do a home schooling thing for grade forgiveness which will allow you to move up the grade.. i would say yes they can go ahead to the next grade if your going directly into home school and not to a public school. but be sure to check with your districts rules or call the home schooling service you are going to use and ask how they run it.. good luck with everything hope it helped...Show more

can write off higher education tuition as a business expense?
Flor Lizardi: This is clearly homework for a tax class. The only suggestion I'll make is that you compare and contrast your facts with Lois Singleton's successful tax court case. She was able to deduct her MBA tuition as a business expense. There were other tax court cases during the same year. A student who designed web sites on the side tried to claim the tuition for his computer science classes and wasn't happy with the court's decision....Show more
Jade Ohno: if the education has nothing to do with the business, of course notusing school expenses as a business expense it would have to have a business purpose, ie. the education would be used to improve the skills of the one the education was being paid for by the businessan S Corp is NOT your personal entity, it files an 1120S, entirely separate from a 1040if the S corp is no longer functioning, it would be wise to dissolve it officially...Show more
Charline Granes: This depends on a lot of circumstances ! and I recommend that you meet with a tax advisor. The general rule for deductibility of education expenses is that it must satisfy two tests:The education is required by your employer or the law to keep your present salary, status, or job. The required education must serve a bona fide business purpose of your employer. The education maintains or improves skills needed in your present work.If these tests are met an employer can provide tuition reimbursement as a business expense and up to $5250 per year is excluded from gross income for the employee. However your situation does not appear to qualify. If you are no longer working for the S Corp, then you would not qualify. There are several individual credits available for higher education expenses. The American Opportunity Tax Credit allows up to $2500 deduction a year for up to four years and the Lifetime Learning Credit allows up to $2000 a year when you no longer qualify for the American Opportunity Credit. These are av! ailable for learning that qualifies you for a new trade or bus! iness. See http://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Benefits-for-Education:... and other listed resources for more information. Also remember you are best to contact a professional who will be able to evaluate your individual situation....Show more
Lawanna Livsey: You can NOT just decide to try and manipulate these things the way that you want to try and do on your 1040 income tax return because they do have rules that have to be met and you do have to meet in order to qualify to use any of your education expenses at this time in your life.Tax Benefits for Education: Information CenterTax credits, deductions and savings plans can help taxpayers with their expenses for higher education.http://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Benefits-for-Education:...Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 12/28/2012...Show more
Todd Stogner: "the individual was working as a sole employee/employer in the s corp, then he decided to return to school,"Did you close shop? If you ceased act! ivity in the corporation, then you cannot claim the tuition expense because the business was essentially closed during the time you were in school. In order for you to be able to claim the tuition as a business expense, the business has to be open and operating at 100% capacity. Working it on weekends is not enough to justify full-time tuition, even if you plan to resume after graduating. You can, if not a dependent, claim one of the education credits on your personal return....Show more
Houston Venezia: Perhaps if the major factor of your entire lessons used to be to coach you that, there'd be a main issue. Nonetheless, in view that most people don't take courses that require you to consider (they avert those like the plague) we are not able to relatively be amazed by results like that. Now, in case you had individuals getting physics degrees who couldn't calculate the pace of an object rolling down an inclined plane, or getting English levels who could not use proper! grammar, then there probably a problem. However saying 'scholars are s! tudying nothing because they could not tell me what 12 months Mao died' would now not be essentially the most logical conclusion....Show more

Summer financial aid..?
Vickie Clampett: If you already used your maximum aid for the year then there is nothing else. If you took a semester off or attended part-time then you might have some left. Contact your financial aid office to find out. If you haven't already used student loans for the year then that is an option. But, again, if you've already taken out the maximum for the year there is nothing else....Show more
Brock Hladik: i'm no longer helpful why, yet at my college (in MO) they're doing a similar element. no man or woman has a Pell provide for the summer season except they'd already been presented with it. you should basically ought to attend until eventually the autumn........?
how does Financial Aid Dpt and school process?
Alonso Crehan: For summer financial aid my daughter had to get a form from the financial aid office from her college to apply for it however she starts tomorrow so hopefully you are not too late for summer school. She got her financial aid award for fall the first week of April. For regular financial aid: After you file the FAFSA, within a week when you log in it will say it has been processed. Then you wait and within a week or two you will get an email saying that your SAR is ready, Student Aid Report and a link to see it and print it. That will be a recap of your FAFSA, some other stuff and your EFC, Estimated Family Contribution. They have a formula they use and based on your FAFSA answers the result of the formula is the EFC. The lower the EFC the more aid you qualify for. This number does not mean how much you get or how much you pay. It may say on the SAR you may qualify for a Pell but that is not all the aid you get it is just saying you may qualify for it. ! They will send your SAR to the colleges you listed on the FAFSA which you applied to. The only way you find out how much aid you qualify for is those colleges will offer you a financial aid award. Each college award will be different. You look them over and pick the best one for you. Usually for fall the awards will be given early mid April. They will email and usually tell you my mail too that your award is ready. Here are sample awards, notice the different EFCs so you see how it factors in. http://www.collegeincolorado.org/Financial_Aid_Pla...Another great thing to read all about FAFSA and federal aid: http://studentaid.ed.gov/students/attachments/site...Awards for fall are given early mid april.

To buy Tivo or to buy Dvd recorder?
Adelle Weight: You are correct, sort of. The TiVo has a feature called TiVo2Go where you can set up a PC as a server to interface with your TiVo unit. You can download the shows to the PC and watch them wherever. Also, make sure your other DVD players can recognize DVD-R discs. Many older players aren't compatible with recordable DVDs....Show more
Dwight Siniard: You are kind of missing something. A DVD is a permanent storage whereas Tivo is really a temporary storage. For example, you typically don't use Tivo as a permanent storage of shows. The purpose of Tivo is to cache up TV programs that you MAY want to watch and watch them at your convenience. We have two Tivos in our house. We signed up when you got a discount fee for the 2nd system (no longer available). This allows you to copy shows from one Tivo to another. Also, Tivo Desktop (free program at Tivo.com) let's you copy shows to your computer. You can watch them on the computer or burn them to DVD ! (using a program like Roxio MyDVD which you would have to purchase). I argue that Tivo gives you the best of both worlds......a temporary cache of your TV shows that you can watch at your convenience AND a mechanism to create a permant storage of shows you want to keep. (You can also pause live TV and skip commercials with ease). The Tivo will be much easier to program to record shows when you are not home than the DVD recorder (which is like a VCR). The progam list, season pass, and wish lists are amazing. That said, getting a show to DVD (while not difficult) does take some computer knowledge and savvy and will not be as easy as a DVD recorder. (My wife uses Tivo with ease but could never program a VCR).You may also want to look into the combination Tivo / DVD recorders. Humax used to make them. I couldn't find them on the Tivo website for purchase but did find this link with a Google search (you may want to look at other Google results):http://www.digitalrecorder.c! om/main/catalog/index....Hope this helps! Enjoy the Tivo :-).! ..Show more
Clinton Migliori: If you get Dish TV you can get a DVR and record anything anytime. I think you could probably get at least 4 different receivers. I can record two different shows at one time.
Florencio Dingle: You can get a Tivo for each TV and share recorded shows on any of them. The Tivo units are practically free with the rebates. It would be almost like having a DVD player on each TV. There will be a charge for each unit though.
Jeremy Donohue: We have a DVR (Tivo- Direct TV version) and a DVD recorder. WE use the Tivo a LOT more. It is just easier and cheaper than burning DVDs.
Shemeka Laker: just buy both of them and on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays you can use the DVR, then on the other days use the tivo. That's what I do and I love TV
can someone tell me about the evolution of the domestic cat? Â
answers 0:can someone tell me about the evolution of the domestic cat?answers 1:Cats prevalent 17 hours of napping an afternoon. they often sleep greater. interior the wild, it is going to pay for a carnivore to be lazy and shelter capability. so as that they sleep plenty until they could desire to seek back. And looking the nutrition dish isn't that factor eating or difficult for a house cat.answers 2:Although its origin is hidden in antiquity, the domestic cat has a history that dates nearly 3,500 years to ancient Egypt. There are no authentic records of domestication earlier than 1500 BC, but it may have taken place sooner. Although the cat was proclaimed a sacred animal in the 5th and 6th dynasties (c. 2465-c. 2150 BC), it had not necessarily been domesticated at that time. It is pro! bable that the Egyptians domesticated the cat because they realized its value in protecting granaries from rodents. Their affection and respect for this predator led to the development of religious cat cults and temple worship of cats.Cats have long been known to other cultures. Wall tiles in Crete dating from 1600 BC depict hunting cats. Evidence from art and literature indicates that the domestic cat was present in Greece from the 5th century BC and in China from 500 BC. In India cats were mentioned in Sanskrit writings around 100 BC, while the Arabs and the Japanese were not introduced to the cat until about AD 600. The earliest record of cats in Britain dates to about AD 936 when Howel Dda, prince of south-central Wales, enacted laws for their protection. No matter what their origins, all canids have certain common characteristics. They are mammals that bear live young. The females have mammary glands, and they suckle their offspring. The early breeds had erect ears and ! pointed or wedge-shaped muzzles, similar to the northern breed! s common today. Most of the carnivores have similar dental structures, which is one way paleontologists have been able to identify them. They develop two sets of teeth, deciduous ("baby") teeth and permanent teeth.Even though all cats are similar in appearance, it is difficult to trace the ancestry of individual breeds. Since tabbylike markings appear in the drawings and mummies of ancient Egyptian cats, present-day tabbies may be descendants of the sacred cats of Egypt. The Abyssinian also resembles pictures and statues of Egyptian cats. The Persian, whose colouring is often the same as that of mixed breeds (although the length of hair and the body conformation are distinctive), was probably crossed at various times with other breeds; the tailless Manx cat, like the hairless Sphynx cat (see photograph ) and curly-coated Devon rex, is a mutation. The ancestry of Persian and Siamese cats may well be distinct from other domestic breeds, representing a domestication of an Asian ! wild cat (the ancestor of the Egyptian cat is believed to have come from Africa). In fact, nothing is known of the ancestry of the Siamese types, and there is no living species of Asian cat that would serve as ancestor.Hope it helps you!...
