Can you Help me Build a Miniature Amusement Park :). Its for a Technological Fair?

Daren Ventrice: you say it's a Technological Fair? so does that mean the usual fixtures,{ ferris wheel, roller coaster, merry-go-round, shooting gallery, bumper cars, hall of mirrors, heli-pad, bungee drop }, are possibly in? or not? some of these could be made, but what do they have to do with technology?take a look at pictures from old technology fair events.does it have to work? or is it static?what are the size limits? eg: examples, if you have 2" high plastic figurines of people, then i suppose the scale follows as 1:35. is this small enough? could parts be larger? does it have to represent technology that exists, today? or can it use fictional or expected future technology?will it become the model for a real amusement park?if your roller-coaster worked by linear induction, and could function upside down and do loops and rolls, that would attract an audience at the show.i suppose you could turn a sardine can into a miniature shooting gallery or a sail boat.do you wan! t to turn old technology (eg: circuit boards, clocks, valves, gauges, and their parts) into a wall mural, and have mini-people use an escalator, treadmill, or elevator to be carried past the murals?to make a mini rifle would be really something if it worked, but that's probably very hard to do... unless it's a laser rifle.a kitchen "lazy susan" would make the platform of a nice merry-go-round. do you want to power it with a small motor and gears?do you want to turn an old toaster oven into a scene from Hell? mythic torture chamber?is it okay to have anacronisms? can you span hundreds of years worth of technology?eg: include both space men and people riding chariots?could a light bulb be turned into a ride? is it bad, or good if it's still obviously a light bulb?could you turn a butane lighter into a jet-pack?could you turn six empty soup cans into a catamaran? or model rocket?could you make a working radio receiver tower or dish or telescope in miniature?could you make a mi! niature turntable with a DJ?...Show more

Caterina Yeargan: hey. u could use wires to shape ur parts, like i guess a ferris wheel is a must. so, u could mayb use wire to shape ur carts and the wheel. this shouldn't cost too much. and if you want u could cover teh wire with paper to make it solid. even leaving it as a wire frame, i think will look creative. since it is a model...or u can use ur little dinki toy cars for carts on the wheel, but that will require a bigger motor than the other idea.what else, dogde `em cars, somehow make them work again using ur toy dinkis.there's that other ride that swings from one side to the other but goes very high and fast. don't know what its called. again i can think of the wire to make ur thingo. but, little toy blocks may also be useful in ur project. i don;t know if ur thing has to look very professioanl. but it sounds very fun. all the best :)...Show more
