Yes, you may THINK you look cool, but chances are you might just look like you're trying too hard.And yes, it can cause severe dental problems. It puts you at risk for gingivitis and plaque buildup. Your gums can also recede (when your gums creep down your teeth and leave your roots exposed). Your teeth will become more sensitive to cold, and at risk for more cavities and infections.I would give it a little more thought if I were you. I just needed parental consent. I never heard of anyone getting numb to get a piercing. I don't think they do that.
