Buyer claiming bogus fees for repairs on used car sold, can I repo car from mechanic?

Marcia Cheathan: If one man had all the money in this world the only 2 things he couldn't over come is poverty and ignorance......how you think you have sold something if you still had the bank loan......been in auto business ann that's gotta be the dumbest one yet.......least your credit gonna be screwed so ya got lots of time to get a little bit of common sence.....

Ira Porietis: as quickly as I bought my motor vehicle few years in the past the customer took it to the close by mechanic, paid $40 for finished checkup and the outcomes confirmed the automobile mandatory couple of upkeep and a few upkeep totaling to approximately $1500. the guy nevertheless needed the automobile so I knocked off $4 hundred from the cost and he or she bought it understanding finished properly what the automobile mandatory. As on your case, you do no longer very own him something, i does not even supply $500. It basically makes you look undesirable as in case you knew there grow to be s! omething incorrect with the automobile....Show more

Leora Klingelhoets: You're screwed. The guy blew up the car due to his own negligence and the bank needs to be paid and so does the mechanic. If the person who bought the car refuses to pay the bank for the loan or the mechanic for the repairs you have the right to repo the car but you are stuck with the bills. The car is in your name. It's your problem. You are the one legally responsible for all of it. The buyer can walk away unharmed. The notorized agreement you have with the buyer is worthless. The only way to enforce it is to take the buyer to court and even if you win (long shot) the judge can't force them to pay you. The judge can declare a judgement against them but he does not have the authority to force them to pay....Show more

Basil Blasingame: Your "contract" isn't worth a thing. Its illegal and no judge would uphold it.You will owe the mechanic for any repairs or he can keep it. And he may not! even give the car to you since you didn't give it to him.None! of the above removes your obligation to pay for it....Show more

Justin Casten: .....Now apparently the bank can not even get a hold of the so called "mechanic", so I believe this guy is just making up stories. I really do not think that any work was ever done to the car, it is fairly new and was in REALLY good condition. I have an old car and lord knows when the last time I put water in it and transmission hasn't blown (knock on wood). This apparently happened from car not having water to transmission blow in less that 2 weeks (1 week at the most). If I cannot find car and he hasn't paid wouldn't it be considered stolen??...Show more
