would you rather drive among savety built cars than safety concious drivers?

Cherry Stampka: I'm a motorcyclist, Driver education is definately the way to go. There is a school of thought that says the most effective way of reducing accidents is removing seatbelts and fitting a a large sharp spike to the steering wheel pointing at the drivers chest.

Lynn Hollars: I would LOVE to see safe minded drivers, let alone drivers who are paying attention to what they're doing out there. We all have our share of duma$$ stories...The 'problem' here is you can't legislate people into not being an a$$hole. If a law is inconvenient, they'll ignore it. Ask that California legislator who voted to ban cell phone use while driving, then caused an accident while reaching for her cell, or the New Jersey governor who wasn't wearing his seatbelt....Show more

Lue Podewils: You actually asked two question, first I would rather drive among safe drivers, second car makers doing their part to improve vehicle is always good, third it should be the state respon! siblity to make drivers safer through mandatory safe driving classes every 6 to 10 years, and make you actually retake the drivers test instead of just renewing it for 50 years without seeing if you remember what a yield sign is

Peggy Sandefer: Safe cars are always good. But a safe driver would be better. What do the automakers consider safe??? A air bag, seatbelts? crash testing in controlled atmosphere is a lot different than getting hit by a F350 while taking a ride in your smart car.A lot of the new cars are small, I dont see anything safe about a small car....Show more
